Great Manchester Run 2010

Huge thanks once again to everyone who took part in this challenging but fun event yesterday in Manchester. It was cold and windy, but “Team Kirsty” was out in force yet again. This event always helps to raise the charity’s profile, as well as raising important funds for Francis House Children’s Hospice. Well done to everyone, and thanks again. Manchester United Fundraiser—“Strategy For Success”

Rene Meulensteen, First Team Coach for Manchester United, will be leading an inspirational, interactive session designed to help understand the qualities needed to create a successful team and how to apply these to deliver success in business. There will be an opportunity to raise money for The Kirsty Club, plus a chance to win some Manchester United memorabilia. Come along to Old Trafford Football Stadium on Thursday 25th March, for 3.00pm (arrive by 2.45pm to be seated). During the session you’ll hear about the insights and opportunities that helped Manchester United develop the strategies that have led to their outstanding success in recent seasons.

Mohamed Al Fayed Increases Support

A huge thank you to our biggest supporter Mohamed Al Fayed, whose monthly contributions are essential in paying for Kirsty’s ongoing care, as well as raising funds to help other very poorly children at the hospice. Mr. Al Fayed recently pledged to increase his monthly donation to The Kirsty Club to a very generous £15,000 per month. Many, many thanks on behalf of all our supporters.

The Kirsty Club has now gone worldwide, thanks to patron Andrea Bommer who has opened our first overseas supporters club in Germany. Hopefully, this is the first of many international branches—setup by people like Andrea who’ve been inspired by Kirsty’s ongoing quest to expand and improve Francis House Children’s Hospice. It’s never too early to start planning for the next Great Manchester Run! This is always fun and challenging day, which has become one of our most important fundraisers. The junior run takes place on 15th May, with the main event the following day. You can pre-register for this very popular event now at http://www.greatrun.org. As a previous winner, Kirsty will be attending this year’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards in Sheffield on Sunday 13th December 2009. It should be another star-studded event, and Kirsty is really looking forward to it.

Another year, another fabulous birthday party for Kirsty—and another great fund-raiser for the Kirsty Club. Thanks to everyone who attended this year’s glitzy Angel Ball at the Hallmark Hotel in Handforth. It’s been a difficult year for us all, but we were still able to have some fun and raise some much-needed funding for Francis House Children’s Hospice. Special thanks to the hotel staff, to all our supporters, to our auctioneer Mike Osman, and compare and entertainer Mike Sweeney. Photos will be added to The Kirsty Club photostream on Flickr.
